Ubisoft Discusses Upcoming Releases
Late last week Ubisoft held a summer presentation at which employees talked about upcoming games and game content. During the stream, a number of different teams presented new projects such as Far Cry 6, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs: Legion, Hyper Scape, Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad, and Brawlhalla. Far Cry 6 coming out next year
During the presentation, Ubisoft gave an official release date for Far Cry 6 and showed off a cinematic new trailer. The recent leak was completely confirmed: the game takes place on a tropical island called Yara, and the villain, a dictator named Anton Castillo, will be played by Giancarlo Esposito of “Breaking Bad” fame. According to the announcement, the game will be available on February 18th, 2021. The developers promised support for PC, PlayStation 5 and 4, and Xbox Series X and One, as well as Google Stadia.
Watch Dogs: Legion coming out October 29th
The developers stated that Watch Dogs: Legion is scheduled for release on October 29th of this year for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Google Stadia. They also played a new trailer directed by Alberto Mielgo, the director of the “Witness” series from the animated anthology show “Love, Death, and Robots.” The game will take place in London and feature, among other things, the ability to recruit any NPC as a playable character. Ubisoft’s representatives announced that the game will also be available on next-gen consoles soon.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla release scheduled for November 17th
According to the developers, a new Assassin’s Creed is coming out this year. PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Google Stadia users will be able to buy it on November 17th. It will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X later. The developers also showed some gameplay videos during the presentation.
Hyper Scape beta launched
Ubisoft also announced the beginning of a beta test for Hyper Space, a new battle royale game. It is already available on PC and should be released on consoles this year.
Ubisoft announces Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad
In addition to higher-profile releases, a new mobile game called Elite Squad was also presented at Ubisoft Forward. The title brings together characters from the entire Tom Clancy series. The developers didn’t mention a release date, but they announced the beginning of pre-registration and shared a new trailer.
Brawlhalla coming out in August
Another new game from Ubisoft that was presented at the conference was a free-to-play mobile title called Brawlhalla that will be released for iOS and Android in August of this year.
