The cybersport market is gaining momentum
According to a survey by Research and Markets, the cybersport gaming market will reach $2.17 billion by 2023.
The market is currently estimated at $926 million, with an expected average annual growth rate of 18.6%. This forecast takes various sources of profit into account: selling broadcast rights and game tickets, selling memorabilia, sponsorship, publishing fees and direct advertising.
“The growing popularity of video games in general and the rapid expansion of cybersport are driving the growth of this market,” a Research and Markets representative said.
This gaming market survey may be a bit conservative, given that other agencies are predicting even more explosive growth. For example, Superdata has published a forecast that predicts a benchmark of $2.3 billion by 2022.
