The 23 Top Genres on Google Play

Playliner has performed a survey of the most popular game genres on Google Play in the US as of March, 2017.
The survey is based on the Top 300 free-to-play games on the American Google Play store, which have been organized and analyzed by genre.
Playliner used both standard genre classifications and its own proprietary terminology.
As a result, they have obtained a list of the 23 most popular genres and 70 subgenres. The complete report can be found here (in Russian).
