South Korea’s gaming market is one of the world’s four largest
According to a survey by Newzoo analysts, the South Korean gaming market will reach $5.6 billion in 2018, surging upward by $1.4 billion in a year.
What’s interesting is that the authors of the survey categorized more than half the country’s population, or 28.9 million people, as gamers. And regardless of the platform, gamers are mostly male, and the percentage of paying gamers is an impressive 85% of the total number.
However, gaming video content is not that popular in the country. Only 39% of South Koreans watch gaming videos.
South Koreans are really into cybersport: 20% are fans of these competitions. League of Legends is especially popular right now.
