As part of the partnership agreement, the Chinese giant will help Marvel develop the superhero universe in both the Chinese and world markets, create games, television series and comics.

NetEase CEO William Ding said that the company “will work hard to deliver the type of high-quality content that game players and Marvel fans will be pleased to see”. He also thanked the new partners and expressed hope that more people will learn about the Marvel universe in the near future.

The parties are not in a hurry to share the details of the agreement with the public, but we already know about at least five new game projects, which should be released by NetEase before the end of 2019. Several of them will be distributed exclusively in China.

NetEase is known as a major publisher of Western gaming projects in China. For example, it is NetEase that produces World of Warcraft in China. Also this year NetEase acquired developers from Quantic Dream – creators of Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human.
