Microsoft ceases production of Kinect
News
Lifetime of the once-popular controller for the Xbox 360, it seems, has come to an end. According to Fast Co. Design, Microsoft is going to stop production of Kinect due to decreasing demand for the device. Meanwhile, user support will still be provided.
Immediately after its launch in 2010, Kinect became a sensation among gamers: about 19 million devices were sold in one year only. Some of the technologies developed for the controller were later utilized for the HoloLens augmented reality helmet.
Our company has localized into the Russian language a few projects for Kinect, including Kinectimals. Now with Bears!, Kinect Disneyland Adventures, Kinect Sports, Nike+ Kinect Training and other games that now evoke nostalgia for the bygone era.
