Logrus IT at G-STAR 2024

From November 14 to 17, the G-STAR 2024 exhibition, South Korea’s largest gaming industry event, took place in Busan. More than three thousand companies took part in the event. Among them were the event’s main sponsor, Nexon Korea, as well as industry leaders such as Gravity, Netmarble, Webzen, Krafton, and Pearl Abyss.

Reflecting current trends in the gaming industry, the exhibition had a strong focus on mobile games. South Korea is not only one of the world’s largest markets in this sector but also a leader in Lifetime Value (LTV) metrics. Many developers and publishers come to G-STAR specifically to showcase their mobile projects. However, in recent years, the organizers have actively sought to include developers of PC and console games, making the event even more diverse.

The exhibition was divided into two primary zones: B2C (Business-to-Consumer) and B2B (Business-to-Business). In the B2C Zone, gamers enjoyed game demos, esports tournaments, meet-and-greets with developers and industry stars, as well as contests and presentations of new releases. As always, the cosplay contest was one of the most spectacular highlights of the event.

The B2B Zone served as a platform for industry professionals, including developers, publishers, investors, and service providers. Here they discussed strategic issues, forged partnerships, and considered promising projects.

Additionally, on November 14 and 15, the G-CON conference was held as part of the exhibition. It showcased successful case studies in the development, implementation, and optimization of game mechanics. The creators of Palworld, Final Fantasy VII, Cyberpunk 2077, Helldivers 2, and other titles shared their secrets. Topics discussed also included monetization strategies, improving commercial success, and the impact of AI technologies.

Every year, G-STAR continues to shine a light on the dynamic development of the gaming industry. Emerging technologies such as virtual and augmented reality, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and metaverses are all prominently featured in the exhibition. G-STAR is a place to catch a glimpse into the future of gaming and meet new innovations that will shape the industry in the coming years.
